Having just come back from a week at Sahara Sunset, we picked up a few bits and pieces about the goings on at RSBC. Apparently the new franchise of Little Italy has not gone down very well with the staff, so much so that all the original bar staff have now left with the exception of 1. Janine has also left and it appears there is no Monster Club now.
Can anybody who has been to RSBC recently confirm this?

E-Mail: from Anne Resort Manager Hi Eric
Janine actually left us at the end of last year – she decided to move to Marbella, so she changed to one of our resorts in Costa del Sol.
We do still have a full childrens entertainments program which includes the activities that Janine had in her program – we have found that we do not have many children at all outside of the school holiday period as I believe that they are a lot stricter controlling this in the UK – in fact for the majority of the year we do not have any at all . Obviously we do ensure that we have a full program when we know that we have school holidays but this is reduced during term times .
Regards
Anne

Thanks Eric - notice she doesn't mention anything about all the bar staff leaving though! Perhaps somebody will be able to enlighten us further in the coming weeks.

They may be great, but are they the original staff, who have been there for many years? Or have all the original staff now left as we have been informed? Personally I am a little disappointed that the franchise has gone to Little Italy group, I can remember us walking out of one their restaurants a couple of years back because the service was appalling and the food even worse.
On another note Sahara Sunset has the new type of sunbeds and they are extremely comfortable, athough I still think it was expense which could have waited a year or two.

I think you will find that the original staff moved on to better things as the previuous guy was an idiot and paid less than the going rate.
I tried the resurant in March and went back three times this was a record for me in the 18 years i have owned there.
The new menu was much better and the price was not to bad.

Hi
This is weird about the bar staff because when i spoke to Chequi in March he was very happy with the set up and was be paid the going rate. The bar staff still had the the three guys from last October and they were also saying they were quite happy. The one who has left is Young Danny,he left to be nearer home and for a better job before Little Italy took over,i also know that they had 2 new chefs in the kitchen, hence i ate in there 3 times

I think the person who told us this had been to RSBC recently, he did say 1 original member of staff remained, perhaps this is Cheqe, I don't know, they just implied to us during a conversation about RSBC that the original bar staff did not like working for Little Italy, maybe all started off well but then went downhill as is often the case. It will be interesting to know one way or the other.

Hi
Update from the resort is that the same guys are there from March and everyone is OK. There are very little children at the resort even though it was half term.

Neil - thank you for the confirmation, its a real shame as the were really nice guys who helped to make our holidays at RSBC what they were, we are not using our week this year as we are on a cruise at the time, but my sister will be using it, so it will be interesting to see what she has to say when she returns.

I myself will going out to RSBC this Friday however my better half and daughter have been there since last Friday and have said that all the new bar staff to date have been great, so it's not all bad news from the resort.

Just a quick question, as the franchise has changed to Little Italy, any idea if they still do one or both of the happy hours?

Both happy hours are still on There is also now a half board option at a cost of 45 euros per person for breakfast and evening meal for 3 days and the menu is of a good quality and is going down well.
