Got back yesterday from RSBC and whilst we had a fantastic time in a lovely refurbished apartment, we noticed a huge drop in the standards at the bar and pool bar, we were never charged the same for the same rounds of drink, when we went for happy hour at 1710 they didn't tell us they hadn't rung the bell and then charged for all the drinks (they did eventually relent after my brother in law complaining), but the worst we found was on the last night when we went to the bar during the evening entertainment and were given our drinks in plastic glasses! when challenged the arrogant barman said he didn't have any clean glasses, no doubt because the staff were too busy watching the entertainment and chatting up women to do their jobs. We gave them another chance half an hour later, but still had plastic glasses, we didn't bother staying after that. We have walked out of Little Italy restaurants in the past because of poor service and not good quality of food, we definately won't be giving them any more of our hard earned cash for as long as they have the franchise. Standards are dropping that's for sure. Lots of people moaning because the can't get weeks at RSBC and having to have one week there and their second week somewhere else. Lots of new faces around too...wondering whether these are new owners or general public booking via Expedia...I expect the latter unfortunately! Also interesting was change over days used to be Fridays and Tuesdays, they now appear to be very day of the week, again no doubt down to Expedia bookings, this must make it even harder for points owners to get a week at RSBC. I have my fixed week and no matter how many times they rang the apartment or pushed things under the door, I had no intention of attending any meeting where they think they can get me to hand it over! I rue the day Diamond Resorts took over our lovely resort

We have also just returned from RSBC and encounted the same problems with the plastic glass I was shocked when I was served this way .There seems to be an attitude with the bar staff perhaps that is the reason of very few people using the bar and restaurant operations. A smile from the bar staff would not go amiss. If it was not due to the 50 pound voucher that Diamond are giving away the restaurant would be empty It will be interesting of the current accounts compared to a few years ago. When you had to queue up to get a drink at happy hour and to get back early for the evening entertainment to get a decent seat.

Brian - I did report it to reception and have also emailed Anne Bennett and a member of the committee about this, I will report back when I get any response! The bar staff were absolutely dire, I fondly remember the days of Cheick and Co, and the laughs they all used to have with us, no atmosphere at all these days and as you rightly say, easy to get a seat for the evening entertainment these days, not that we bothered much!

Nothings changed then, I posted the very same complaints on here back in July Its time the chairman and the committee earned their right to represent us and do something about this now. Unfortunately I wont be at the AGM but I do know others who will be bringing this up along with several other issues. As for the expedia thing, probably not as you can book any day through Diamnond resorts themselves providing there is availability. A lot of people myself included are going a day early if there is apartments available as the price of Thursday flights compared to Fridays can be quite considerable depending on time of year and departure airport.

Neil - I have reported it to the Committee and received a very full reply, hopefully they will at least take things up with the resort management. Just wish they would get shot of Little Italy as the franchise as they are really bringing things down. When we complained about the plastic glasses the barman was beyond arrogant. We hardly used the bar or the pool bar, saved ourselves a small fortune, I think a lot of people are voting with their feet and not using them as well!

Returned from a week on the 8th,fully agree with the comments below(never use Little Italy chain after bad service and food so other than a pizza at the bar no longer eat on site..Your plastic glass now franked as a half pint, so 5E a pint. 1E 200 yds away in a chilled GLASS.Our last visit saw a happy hour(again not signalled at 5pm and very few bothered) at 11pm full of people, empty all but last(party) night all week.Never mind expedia, also booking.com.Fixed wek owner but cannot move to complement other owned weeks other than £3k to change to points.

Due to work committments cannot now travel on my fixed week 40, so did an RCI exchange 2 weeks later and stayed in Los Christianos but thought it would be nice to visit RSBC as haven't been for 3 years now. Had a drink at the pool bar and couldn't believe the change, agree with all that has been said here, surely staff, plastic glasses, is this the RSBC I have known since 1990! Will be at the AGM and will be interested to hear the discussion on this issue. As an aside what weeks do you own Chris, I'm trying to find a swap!

Well we have managed to sell our week and actually get a few quid back on our "investment" we've had some great holidays at RSBC but what with the hike in management fees and the dumbing down of the resort (i.e Little Italy) we decided that it was time to get out...if we want to return we will just rent a week from other members. I expect we will still get the minutes of the recent AGM this year so will be interested to see what others have had to say!

I wrote a complaint to DRI with the same problems with the bar staff.
Some of the stunts pulled was to half fill a 1ltr jar with ice, then half an orange, we paid 13eur for quarter of a jug, not only that they used cheap sangria out of a carton that cost a euro, charging different prices for the same drink was charged by different bar tenders.
Food, breakfast I was served with uncooked eggs, main restaurant was a joke, I asked for a medium cooked steak, it turned up raw, I ask for the steak to be cooked, guest what? The same piece of steak turned up.
The answers from DRI were, they are a franchise and we have no control over them.

The complaints regarding Little Italy has to my knowledge been ongoing for the last 18 months maybe more as a caterer myself it is hard to believe of the excuse from DRI a franchise would be working to a certain contract if they do not abide to that contract terminate it.
